I have downloaded Legacy 9.0 free version to upload my Ancestry ged.com. I have spent most of the day deleting copyright material from my tree. Most concerning is that Ancestry create derivative indexes from my research. Therefore, because most of it is in nascent stages and obviously contains errors, I am concerned about the propagation of false data. Particularly since, one of my husband’s ancestors has been linked to serial killers; see patricialong156 on Ancestry. However, data entry, much like research, is not smooth and seemingless. Similarly, the same can be said for Gramps, Rootsmagic and other recommended freeware on the internet. It appears that relying upon one’s own intelligence is necessary.
